Removing an in-ground swimming pool is a major project that generates tons of concrete, steel rebar, pool decking, coping, tile, plumbing lines, and either fiberglass or vinyl liner material. A typical 15x30-foot concrete pool produces 20-30 cubic yards of concrete alone, plus the surrounding deck material and equipment (pumps, filters, heaters).
