It comes down to waste volume and pickup frequency together. A small retail shop might need a 2-yard with weekly pickup, while a busy restaurant could require a 6 or 8 yard with daily service. As a rough guide: a 2-yard holds 8 to 10 trash bags, a 4-yard 16 to 20, a 6-yard 24 to 30, and an 8-yard 32 to 40. Tell us your business type and headcount and we will recommend the fit. If you are consistently overfilling, upgrading a size is usually cheaper than adding pickups.

Your monthly rate covers the container rental and all scheduled pickups. Additional charges only apply for things outside the routine: extra pickups beyond your schedule, contamination (hazardous materials in a standard container), or overfilled containers that prevent a safe pickup. Every potential fee is outlined in your service agreement before you sign, not discovered on an invoice.

A front-load dumpster is the smaller, lidded container behind businesses: it stays permanently and a route truck lifts and empties it on schedule. A roll-off is the long open-top box for projects: it gets delivered, filled once, and hauled away. If you generate waste every week, front-load service costs less per yard. If you have a one-time cleanout or renovation, a roll-off is the right tool. Plenty of our commercial accounts run both.

A clear approach to the container. Keep cars, pallets, and deliveries out of the path, keep the lids closed so nothing sits on top, and if your container lives in an enclosure, make sure the gate opens that morning. No. Standard front-load containers take regular commercial waste: trash, packaging, food waste, cardboard. Hazardous material (chemicals, paint, batteries, medical waste) triggers a contamination fee and needs a specialized disposal stream. If your operation generates anything questionable, ask us first and we will point you to the right handling.

That is the signal to resize or re-schedule, and it is worth a two-minute call. Chronic overfilling costs you overfill fees and makes pickups unsafe. Moving from a 4-yard weekly to a 6-yard weekly, or adding a second pickup day, almost always comes out cheaper than paying overages every month. High-volume operations may be better served by a compactor.
