Need a same-day or next-day dumpster in Lincoln?
Same-day delivery is available across Lincoln, NE on most sizes: flat-rate, no hidden fees, weekend drop-offs too.
Dumpster rental vs. doing it yourself
Not sure if you need a roll-off? Here's the simple rule, and how a dumpster compares to the alternatives in Lincoln.
Rent a dumpster if…
- You have more than a pickup-truck load of debris
- It's a multi-day project (reno, cleanout, roof, move)
- You're tossing heavy material (concrete, dirt, shingles)
- You want it gone on your own schedule, not by appointment
You probably don't need one if…
- It's a single item or two (try junk removal instead)
- Everything fits in a couple trash bags
- Your city pickup will take it within a day or two

“Tires blow, landfill lines back up, trucks break down. Delays happen. My advice: don't bring a six-person demo crew on site at 8 AM to stand around waiting on a box. Order a day or two in advance and plan the crew for after the drop. The people who book ahead almost always get the smoothest delivery days.”

Straight Talk From Our Team
“Every order comes down to three questions: what's the material, what size do you need, and how long will you need the container. Material is the most important thing. Concrete and dirt are priced completely differently than household junk, wood, decking, or furniture. It's the first place to start, every time.
Size matters because you don't want more containers than the job actually needs. The way every dumpster company prices is basically by hauls: a haul is a drop-off and a pickup. So don't get a 10-yard if the job really needs three of them: a 30-yard up front might be an extra $300-500, but a 10-yard three times could be an extra $1,000+.
And pay attention to the rental days. Some places include 3 days, some include 0, some 7, some 14. That's why using someone like Ultimate is great. We help you make these selections and build the price exactly around what you need, versus haulers with set rates that might be too much or too little and quietly get you on weight or rental days.”

“Contractors always underestimate how many boxes a job really takes. Everyone says 'one 30-yarder and maybe two or three swaps,' then deliveries, packaging, and everyday garbage get mixed in and they've used six. We price around what saves you money across the whole project, not just each rental.”

Local Disposal Regulations in Lincoln
Important rules and guidelines for dumpster rental in Lincoln, NE. We handle the details so you don't have to.
Permit Requirements
Generally Not RequiredWhether you need a permit in Lincoln depends on placement. A dumpster on your own driveway or private property generally does not require one. If it has to sit on a public street, sidewalk, or right-of-way, Lincoln or Nebraska will typically require a temporary placement permit. Tell us where the container needs to go and we'll confirm the requirement for your address and handle the paperwork if needed.
Weight Limits & Overage Fees
Each dumpster size includes a set weight allowance: about 1 ton on a 10-yard up to 4 tons on a 40-yard, spelled out in your quote. In Lincoln, weight overage is billed at $130 per additional ton (our live local rate, not an estimate). Tossing heavy material like concrete or dirt? Ask about a dedicated heavy-debris container instead.
Placement Rules
We deliver to driveways, parking lots, construction sites, and (with permits) public streets in Lincoln. A flat, hard surface is ideal. Make sure to clear the delivery area of vehicles and low-hanging branches. The driver will call ahead to confirm placement.
Local Disposal Facilities
Waste from Lincoln dumpster rentals is processed at licensed solid waste facilities serving Lancaster County. We prioritize nearby transfer stations to minimize hauling distances and environmental impact. Recycling and material recovery are handled whenever feasible under Nebraska guidelines.

Local Tips for Lincoln, Nebraska Rentals
Freeze-Thaw Season
Nebraska winters can cause ground heaving and soft soil conditions. If placing a dumpster on a gravel or grass surface in Lincoln, wait until the ground firms up or use plywood under the container to prevent sinking.
Tornado Season Awareness
During tornado season (April-June), avoid leaving unsecured lightweight debris in an open dumpster in Lincoln. If severe weather is forecast, tarp the container or schedule early pickup to prevent wind-blown waste.
Large Property Cleanouts
If your Lincoln-area property includes outbuildings, garages, or agricultural structures, our 30- and 40-yard dumpsters are popular for full cleanouts and tear-downs. Access paths should be at least 10 feet wide for the delivery truck.

Dumpster Rental FAQs: Lincoln, NE
Answers to the most common questions about renting a dumpster in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Average dumpster rental prices in Lincoln, NE run about $395 to $950 depending on the size, debris type, and how long you keep it. A 10-yard averages $395-$595 and a 40-yard $750-$950. Your flat rate covers delivery, the rental period, pickup, and disposal. Enter your ZIP for an exact Lincoln price. Real example from our Lincoln delivery records: a 10-yard in ZIP 68508 billed $465 in January 2025.
Three things decide every Lincoln order: what the material is, what size you need, and how long you'll need the container. Material matters most: concrete and dirt are priced completely differently than household junk, wood, or furniture. Then think in hauls (every drop-off and pickup is one haul): a 30-yard up front might cost $300-500 more than a 10-yard, but needing a 10-yard hauled three times can run $1,000+ extra. Last, check the rental days. Some companies include 0 days, some 3, some 7 or 14. We include 7 and build the price around exactly what your job needs. (Michael V., Head of Operations)
For most Lincoln driveway placements, no permit is required. Street or right-of-way placement in Nebraska, however, usually means a short-term permit from the local authority. Just tell us where the container needs to go and we'll handle the guidance.
In Lincoln, the included rental window is 7 days. If your project runs long, we can extend it at a modest daily rate or set up a 2-4 week rental up front, whatever fits your schedule. In Lincoln, extra days are billed at $35 per day, our live local rate.
All six sizes (10 through 40 yard) are available in Lincoln. Most home projects land on a 15 or 20-yard, while demolition and new construction call for a 30 or 40. Tell us your project and we'll match the size. In our own Lincoln delivery records, the 30-yard is the most-rented size (27% of local orders).
The 30-yard (27% of the 80+ orders in our Lincoln delivery records since 2019). If you're torn between two sizes, going bigger is usually the cheaper mistake: the price step up is small, while a container that's too small can mean paying for a second haul.
Yes. In Lincoln we take most C&D debris: wood, drywall, roofing, concrete, brick, and general renovation waste. Just keep hazardous materials out, and let us know if you're tossing a lot of heavy material so we can set the right weight allowance. Debris from Lincoln jobs is processed at licensed facilities nearby. The closest in our records is City Of Lincoln North 48th Street Landfill (c&d landfill), about 4.5 miles out.
Same-day drop-off is often possible in Lincoln for early orders, and next-day is standard. Tell us your ZIP and we'll confirm the fastest available delivery for your address. Heads up: September and October are the busiest rental months in Lincoln in our delivery records. Book a day or two ahead then.
Beyond Lincoln, we cover the surrounding suburbs and the greater Lincoln metro across Nebraska. See our Nebraska page for the full city list, or enter your ZIP to confirm service at your address.
In Lincoln, the included weight scales with size: ~1 ton (10/12-yard), 1.5 tons (15-yard), 2 tons (20-yard), 3 tons (30-yard), 4 tons (40-yard). Going over simply may accrue an overage, so tell us if you're tossing concrete or shingles and we'll add the right weight up front.
Most debris is welcome in Lincoln, but a few things can't go in by law: hazardous waste, wet paint, solvents, asbestos, tires, batteries, and refrigerants. We'll help you find the right disposal for those. Reach out if you're unsure.
Couches and furniture are welcome in our Lincoln containers. They take up volume more than weight, so size up if you're emptying a whole home. The 20-yard is the sweet spot for full cleanouts.
Definitely, roofers in Lincoln use us constantly. The key with shingles is weight: they hit the scale fast, so most tear-offs belong in a 10, 12, or 15-yard with a roofing weight package rather than a big container.
Yes, with one rule: heavy masonry usually needs its own dedicated container in Lincoln, typically a 10 or 15-yard loaded level-full, because concrete and dirt reach road weight limits long before the box looks full. Tell us it's heavy debris and we'll set it up right.
Yes, Lincoln customers toss mattresses regularly. Because some Nebraska landfills process them separately, give us a heads-up when ordering and we'll confirm any facility handling details for your ZIP.
Yes for standard appliances in Lincoln. Refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners are the special case: federal rules require refrigerant removal before disposal, so they can only go in after being drained and tagged.
Usually not in the dumpster. Many states including parts of Nebraska restrict TVs, monitors, and e-waste from landfills. The good news: most Lincoln areas have free e-waste drop-offs or retailer take-back programs. Ask us and we'll point you to the nearest option.
Absolutely. Lincoln customers use 10-20 yard boxes for yard cleanups constantly. Stumps and large trunks are heavy, so flag those when you order and we'll size the weight allowance to match.
Mixed loads are the norm in Lincoln: cleanout junk, drywall, cabinets, and flooring can all share a box. Keep concrete and dirt separate in a heavy-debris container, and leave out hazardous materials, and you're set.
Debris has to stay level with the container's top rim. That's a road-safety law, not our preference. If a Lincoln load is heaped above the rim, the driver can't legally haul it and you'd need to level it before pickup. When in doubt, go one size up; it's cheaper than a second trip.
You'll just see the pre-disclosed per-ton overage on the final invoice. The scale ticket from the Lincoln facility documents it. The smart move is telling us about dense debris when ordering so the included weight actually matches your project.
Not if it's placed right. Our Lincoln drivers can lay protective boards under the contact points on request, which prevents scratching and indentation on driveways. Fresh asphalt (under a year old) deserves extra caution. Mention it and we'll plan placement.
No, most Lincoln deliveries happen without anyone home. Just tell us exactly where you want the container (driveway side, angle, distance from the garage) when you book, and the driver follows your placement notes.
We schedule Lincoln deliveries Monday-Saturday. If your project starts on the weekend, order by Friday and we'll line the container up so it's waiting when you are.
Once you tell us you're finished, we schedule the Lincoln haul-away right away, usually next business day. Finishing early never costs extra. The container just leaves sooner.
Please don't move it yourself. Containers weigh thousands of pounds and dragging one damages pavement (and voids placement protection). If the spot isn't working in Lincoln, call us and we'll relocate it properly with the truck.
Swap service is available throughout Lincoln: full container out, fresh container in, usually same or next day. Tell us your project pace and we'll schedule swaps proactively.
The budget plays in Lincoln: right-size the container the first time, separate clean heavy material (it can dump cheaper), and book a day ahead rather than same-day when you can. Everything else is already in the flat rate.
Rentals run rain or shine in Lincoln. Containers are steel and weather doesn't stop delivery or pickup. One note: rain-soaked debris (especially drywall, carpet, or yard waste) weighs more, so tarp the load if heavy weather is coming and you're near your weight allowance.
Think of it as labor vs. price: a Lincoln dumpster costs less per cubic yard and stays as long as you need; junk removal includes the lifting at a premium. DIY loaders save real money with the container.
Yes. From single-job roll-offs to standing accounts, we support Lincoln businesses with reliable delivery windows, fast swaps, and one point of contact. Ask about our Pro program if you rent regularly.
Often yes, with the right paperwork: street placement in Lincoln usually requires a temporary right-of-way permit from the city, and some blocks need reflective markers or cones. We'll tell you exactly what your address requires before delivery.
Easy: reach out before the driver heads your way and we'll rebook your Lincoln delivery for whenever works. Weather delays, permit waits, project slips: we handle those daily.
To rent in Lincoln, just drop your ZIP on our quote page, choose your container and date, and confirm. It takes a couple of minutes. You can also call (866) 858-3867 and a real person will set it up for you.
A swap-out works like ordering another container, and everything resets: new invoice, new rental days, fresh box. You fill it, tell us you need a return or swap, and we handle the dispatch, paperwork, weight tickets, and billing from there. Jobs with multiple swap-outs normally get repeat-business discounts, usually $25-$50, especially contractors and Pro Program members.
Cancel at least 48 hours before your delivery date for a full refund. Once dispatch schedules are set, last-minute isn't free: there's a flat $375 dispatch fee for canceling inside the 48-hour window. The $25 cancellation insurance add-on changes that: cancel anytime, as long as the driver isn't already en route. Not ready for delivery? Just call and move the date instead.
They're not prohibited, but they're not free either. Truly prohibited means hazardous materials (paint, chemicals, asbestos). Items like mattresses, tires, and appliances with refrigerant are charged per item by the landfill, and every area is different: one landfill charges $75 for a mattress and box spring, another charges nothing. We don't set those rates, but we'll call the landfill serving Lincoln, get the exact numbers, and relay them back. All you have to do is ask.
If you want protection down, set it up before the driver arrives (wood blocks, 2x4s, plywood, pavers, mats, or a driveway tarp all work) and tell us so we brief the driver to place the container on it. In some areas we can provide protection ourselves; in markets served by smaller partner operations we can't always relay every request, so customer-supplied is the sure bet.
