“Stop overloading the container. It only costs you money in dry-run fees when the driver can't safely pick it up. And don't mix heavy material with light. Adding 200 bricks to a box of household garbage turns a one-ton load into seven tons for no reason, when those bricks could've been disposed of somewhere else for less.”

Weight overage: $185 per additional ton
If your load comes in over the included tonnage, Brooklyn overage runs $185 per ton on our orders. Most companies in the market quote $200-$250.
Extra days: $45 per day
Every rental includes 7 days. Need longer? $45 per day after that, no repricing games.
NYC street permit: $75 per 5 days, we pull it for you
If the container sits on the street, NYC requires a DOT permit. We handle the permit ourselves: $75 covers up to 5 days, and it auto-renews at $75 every 5 days until pickup, so your container is never sitting out there unpermitted.
Brooklyn street deliveries are their own sport, and it's almost always about parked cars. The drop spot has to be reserved before the truck arrives: your own vehicles, cones, or a properly taped-off section. You need about 25 feet of curb sectioned off, and on a busy Brooklyn block that's the hardest part of the whole rental.
Alternate-side parking is a real constraint, not a suggestion: we can't place a container on the restricted side of the street during its cleaning window. When you order, we'll ask for your block's alternate-side schedule so the truck shows up on the right side at the right time. That's how we avoid a wasted trip for you and a dry-run fee.
Same-day delivery in Brooklyn is real if you order before 12pm ET. Not guaranteed, but we make it happen all the time. We've gone from placed order to container on the ground in 30 minutes.
New York City requires waste brokers to be licensed by the Business Integrity Commission. Our license is BIC-503963. For managed buildings we can provide a certificate of insurance (general liability, and usually auto coverage from the servicing vendor) before the container arrives.
Out of 1,400+ dumpsters we've delivered in Brooklyn since 2019, 30-yards are seven out of every ten orders, and there's a reason. In Brooklyn, sizing up only costs a few hundred dollars more, while getting containers in and out of these blocks is the hard part. The container lengths are similar, so the smart move is to take the bigger box: going too small can cost double or triple by the end of the project once you're paying for a second haul.
Real delivery counts from our Brooklyn order ledger since 2019. This is where our trucks actually work:
Canarsie / Flatlands / Mill Basin (11234)
622 deliveries (our busiest ZIP in the borough: 94% of these are 30-yards)
Starrett City / East New York (11239)
133 deliveries

Sunset Park / Greenwood (11232)

Clinton Hill / Fort Greene (11205)

And we run the whole borough: brownstone renovations in Park Slope and Carroll Gardens, kitchen and bath remodels in Bay Ridge, storefront and commercial work in Williamsburg, DUMBO, and Bed-Stuy. If it's in Brooklyn, we've probably already delivered on your block.

The right size depends on your project. Here's what Brooklyn customers rent most, with the size and starting price for each.
Concrete, brick, dirt, and asphalt are heavy. A 10 or 15-yard heavy-debris dumpster is the right call in Brooklyn so you stay under weight limits and avoid overage fees. Tell us it's a heavy load and we'll size it correctly.

Decluttering, a single-room reno, or a small move in Brooklyn? A 10-yard handles a focused cleanout; step up to a 20-yard for whole-home junk and furniture.

“Driveway protection depends on what it's made of. High-PSI concrete is a different animal than soft asphalt. Request protection a few days before delivery, and if boards can't ride on that truck, lay your own planks or blocks so the container sits on a surface that spreads the weight instead of denting where the wheels land.”

Straight Talk From Our Team
“Every order comes down to three questions: what's the material, what size do you need, and how long will you need the container. Material is the most important thing. Concrete and dirt are priced completely differently than household junk, wood, decking, or furniture. It's the first place to start, every time.
Size matters because you don't want more containers than the job actually needs. The way every dumpster company prices is basically by hauls: a haul is a drop-off and a pickup. So don't get a 10-yard if the job really needs three of them: a 30-yard up front might be an extra $300-500, but a 10-yard three times could be an extra $1,000+.
And pay attention to the rental days. Some places include 3 days, some include 0, some 7, some 14. That's why using someone like Ultimate is great. We help you make these selections and build the price exactly around what you need, versus haulers with set rates that might be too much or too little and quietly get you on weight or rental days.”

Most household and construction debris is accepted. A few regulated items can't go in any roll-off. Here's the honest list.
Heavy materials (concrete, dirt, shingles) are accepted in a dedicated container sized for weight. Mention them when you book and we'll set the right allowance.
Stuck with a prohibited item in Brooklyn? Call us and we'll point you to the right local disposal or recycling option.
“Front-loaders are for businesses with consistent waste (restaurants, retail, hotels, office buildings) who want a permanent container emptied weekly or biweekly. Job sites get roll-offs. If you're not a business looking at a 12-month service contract, a front-loader usually isn't your answer.”

Important rules and guidelines for dumpster rental in Brooklyn, NY. We handle the details so you don't have to.
Private driveways and lots in Brooklyn don't need a permit. If the container sits on a public street or sidewalk, NYC requires a DOT permit, and we pull it for you: $75 covers up to 5 days and auto-renews at $75 every 5 days until pickup. Just tell us your block's alternate-side parking schedule so we deliver to the right side of the street.
Each dumpster size includes a set weight allowance: about 1 ton on a 10-yard up to 4 tons on a 40-yard, spelled out in your quote. In Brooklyn, weight overage is billed at $185 per additional ton (our live local rate, not an estimate). Tossing heavy material like concrete or dirt? Ask about a dedicated heavy-debris container instead.
We deliver to driveways, parking lots, construction sites, and (with permits) public streets in Brooklyn. A flat, hard surface is ideal. Make sure to clear the delivery area of vehicles and low-hanging branches. Our drivers will call 30 minutes ahead to confirm placement.
Waste collected in Brooklyn is hauled to licensed transfer stations and landfill facilities serving Kings County, in compliance with New York disposal regulations. Recyclable materials are separated when possible to reduce landfill impact.

Answers to the most common questions about renting a dumpster in Brooklyn, New York.
Brooklyn dumpster rental costs $610 to $1,250 all-in depending on size: a 10-yard runs $610-$810, a 20-yard $755-$955, and a 30-yard (the size in 70% of our Brooklyn orders) $900-$1,100. That covers delivery, 7 days, pickup, disposal, and the included tonnage. Recent real deliveries: a 15-yard in 11208 billed $730 and a 30-yard in 11205 billed $992.
Only if the container sits on the street or sidewalk. Private driveways and lots don't need one. NYC requires a DOT permit for street placement, and we pull it for you: $75 covers up to 5 days and auto-renews at $75 every 5 days until pickup. You just give us your block's alternate-side parking schedule so we deliver to the right side of the street.
The 30-yard. It's 70% of the 1,400+ Brooklyn orders in our delivery records since 2019. Brooklyn jobs size up because the price step to a bigger box is small (a few hundred dollars) while a too-small box that needs a second haul can cost double or triple by the end of the project.
Yes, order before 12pm ET and same-day is usually doable. It's not guaranteed, but we make it happen all the time; our fastest Brooklyn turnaround went from placed order to delivered container in about 30 minutes.
Three things decide every Brooklyn order: what the material is, what size you need, and how long you'll need the container. Material matters most: concrete and dirt are priced completely differently than household junk, wood, or furniture. Then think in hauls (every drop-off and pickup is one haul): a 30-yard up front might cost $300-500 more than a 10-yard, but needing a 10-yard hauled three times can run $1,000+ extra. Last, check the rental days. Some companies include 0 days, some 3, some 7 or 14. We include 7 and build the price around exactly what your job needs. (Michael V., Head of Operations)
In Brooklyn, the included rental window is 7 days. If your project runs long, we can extend it at a modest daily rate or set up a 2-4 week rental up front, whatever fits your schedule. In Brooklyn, extra days are billed at $45 per day, our live local rate.
All six sizes (10 through 40 yard) are available in Brooklyn. Most home projects land on a 15 or 20-yard, while demolition and new construction call for a 30 or 40. Tell us your project and we'll match the size. In our own Brooklyn delivery records, the 30-yard is the most-rented size (70% of local orders).
Absolutely. Construction and demolition debris is one of the most common Brooklyn uses. Drywall, lumber, shingles, concrete, brick, tile, and siding are all accepted. Heavy materials may affect the included weight, and hazardous items (paint, chemicals, asbestos) aren't allowed. Ask us about anything specific. Debris from Brooklyn jobs is processed at licensed facilities nearby. The closest in our records is City Green Organics (transfer station), about 2.1 miles out.
We deliver fast in Brooklyn: same-day when you book before noon and inventory allows, otherwise next business day. Check your ZIP to see the earliest slot. Heads up: May and January are the busiest rental months in Brooklyn in our delivery records. Book a day or two ahead then.
We serve Brooklyn plus the communities throughout its metro area and the rest of New York. Not sure if we reach you? Drop in your ZIP and we'll confirm coverage instantly.
Each Brooklyn rental includes a weight allowance: about 1 ton on a 10 or 12-yard up to 4 tons on a 40-yard. It's not a hard cap; any size handles your load. If you go over the included weight with heavy material, just let us know when you order and we'll set you up with more, no surprises.
Prohibited items in Brooklyn typically include hazardous waste, paint, solvents, chemicals, asbestos, medical waste, batteries, tires, and refrigerants. Fridges and AC units with refrigerant need special handling. Rules vary by locality in New York. Ask us about any specific item and we'll point you to the right disposal.
Couches and furniture are welcome in our Brooklyn containers. They take up volume more than weight, so size up if you're emptying a whole home. The 20-yard is the sweet spot for full cleanouts.
Definitely, roofers in Brooklyn use us constantly. The key with shingles is weight: they hit the scale fast, so most tear-offs belong in a 10, 12, or 15-yard with a roofing weight package rather than a big container.
Yes, with one rule: heavy masonry usually needs its own dedicated container in Brooklyn, typically a 10 or 15-yard loaded level-full, because concrete and dirt reach road weight limits long before the box looks full. Tell us it's heavy debris and we'll set it up right.
Yes, Brooklyn customers toss mattresses regularly. Because some New York landfills process them separately, give us a heads-up when ordering and we'll confirm any facility handling details for your ZIP.
Yes for standard appliances in Brooklyn. Refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners are the special case: federal rules require refrigerant removal before disposal, so they can only go in after being drained and tagged.
Usually not in the dumpster. Many states including parts of New York restrict TVs, monitors, and e-waste from landfills. The good news: most Brooklyn areas have free e-waste drop-offs or retailer take-back programs. Ask us and we'll point you to the nearest option.
Absolutely. Brooklyn customers use 10-20 yard boxes for yard cleanups constantly. Stumps and large trunks are heavy, so flag those when you order and we'll size the weight allowance to match.
Mixed loads are the norm in Brooklyn: cleanout junk, drywall, cabinets, and flooring can all share a box. Keep concrete and dirt separate in a heavy-debris container, and leave out hazardous materials, and you're set.
Debris has to stay level with the container's top rim. That's a road-safety law, not our preference. If a Brooklyn load is heaped above the rim, the driver can't legally haul it and you'd need to level it before pickup. When in doubt, go one size up; it's cheaper than a second trip.
You'll just see the pre-disclosed per-ton overage on the final invoice. The scale ticket from the Brooklyn facility documents it. The smart move is telling us about dense debris when ordering so the included weight actually matches your project.
Not if it's placed right. Our Brooklyn drivers can lay protective boards under the contact points on request, which prevents scratching and indentation on driveways. Fresh asphalt (under a year old) deserves extra caution. Mention it and we'll plan placement.
No, most Brooklyn deliveries happen without anyone home. Just tell us exactly where you want the container (driveway side, angle, distance from the garage) when you book, and the driver follows your placement notes.
We schedule Brooklyn deliveries Monday-Saturday. If your project starts on the weekend, order by Friday and we'll line the container up so it's waiting when you are.
Once you tell us you're finished, we schedule the Brooklyn haul-away right away, usually next business day. Finishing early never costs extra. The container just leaves sooner.
Please don't move it yourself. Containers weigh thousands of pounds and dragging one damages pavement (and voids placement protection). If the spot isn't working in Brooklyn, call us and we'll relocate it properly with the truck.
Swap service is available throughout Brooklyn: full container out, fresh container in, usually same or next day. Tell us your project pace and we'll schedule swaps proactively.
The budget plays in Brooklyn: right-size the container the first time, separate clean heavy material (it can dump cheaper), and book a day ahead rather than same-day when you can. Everything else is already in the flat rate.
Rentals run rain or shine in Brooklyn. Containers are steel and weather doesn't stop delivery or pickup. One note: rain-soaked debris (especially drywall, carpet, or yard waste) weighs more, so tarp the load if heavy weather is coming and you're near your weight allowance.
Think of it as labor vs. price: a Brooklyn dumpster costs less per cubic yard and stays as long as you need; junk removal includes the lifting at a premium. DIY loaders save real money with the container.
Yes. From single-job roll-offs to standing accounts, we support Brooklyn businesses with reliable delivery windows, fast swaps, and one point of contact. Ask about our Pro program if you rent regularly.
Often yes, with the right paperwork: street placement in Brooklyn usually requires a temporary right-of-way permit from the city, and some blocks need reflective markers or cones. We'll tell you exactly what your address requires before delivery.
Easy: reach out before the driver heads your way and we'll rebook your Brooklyn delivery for whenever works. Weather delays, permit waits, project slips: we handle those daily.
Booking a Brooklyn dumpster takes minutes: get your instant ZIP price, select size and date, and you're done. Rather do it by phone? Call (866) 858-3867 and we'll arrange delivery, often same or next day.
A swap-out works like ordering another container, and everything resets: new invoice, new rental days, fresh box. You fill it, tell us you need a return or swap, and we handle the dispatch, paperwork, weight tickets, and billing from there. Jobs with multiple swap-outs normally get repeat-business discounts, usually $25-$50, especially contractors and Pro Program members.
Cancel at least 48 hours before your delivery date for a full refund. Once dispatch schedules are set, last-minute isn't free: there's a flat $375 dispatch fee for canceling inside the 48-hour window. The $25 cancellation insurance add-on changes that: cancel anytime, as long as the driver isn't already en route. Not ready for delivery? Just call and move the date instead.
They're not prohibited, but they're not free either. Truly prohibited means hazardous materials (paint, chemicals, asbestos). Items like mattresses, tires, and appliances with refrigerant are charged per item by the landfill, and every area is different: one landfill charges $75 for a mattress and box spring, another charges nothing. We don't set those rates, but we'll call the landfill serving Brooklyn, get the exact numbers, and relay them back. All you have to do is ask.
If you want protection down, set it up before the driver arrives (wood blocks, 2x4s, plywood, pavers, mats, or a driveway tarp all work) and tell us so we brief the driver to place the container on it. In some areas we can provide protection ourselves; in markets served by smaller partner operations we can't always relay every request, so customer-supplied is the sure bet.
