You will receive a final receipt (typically within 1 to 3 business days) confirming the weight of your load, any applicable overage charges, and a summary of your rental. 5 Steps to a Smooth Pickup
Schedule your pickup
Contact your provider by phone, online, or text at least 24 hours before you need the dumpster picked up. Confirm the date and approximate time window for the truck's arrival.
Check the fill level
Make sure all debris is at or below the top edge of the dumpster. If any items extend above the fill line, remove them before the truck arrives to avoid delays or overfill surcharges.
Clear the area around the dumpster
Move vehicles, equipment, and any other obstacles away from the dumpster and the truck's access path. The driver needs at least 60 feet of straight clearance to safely load the container.
Close and secure the rear door
If the dumpster has a rear swing door, make sure it is closed and latched. An open door can swing during loading and create a safety hazard for the driver.
Remove protective plywood
If you placed plywood under the dumpster to protect your driveway, remove it before or immediately after pickup to prevent moisture from getting trapped beneath the boards.
Common Pickup Delays and How to Avoid Them
Dumpster is overfilled
Check the fill level before scheduling pickup. All debris must be below the top edge. If overfilled, remove material until the load is level with the container walls.
Vehicle blocking truck access
Move all cars, trailers, and equipment at least 60 feet away from the dumpster. The truck needs a clear, straight path to approach and load the container.
Rear swing door is open or blocked
Close and latch the rear door before pickup. Items piled against an open door can spill out when the dumpster is tilted for loading.
Low-hanging branches or wires
If branches have grown over the dumpster since delivery, trim them back to provide at least 23 feet of overhead clearance for the truck's hydraulic lift.
Dumpster shifted or sank into soft ground
If the dumpster has shifted on soft ground, do not try to move it. Inform the driver before they attempt pickup so they can adjust their approach.
